Henna Aftercare

Do’s and Don’ts

By following these henna aftercare instructions, you can protect and lengthen the life of your design.

DO’s

  • Allow your henna to dry for 30-45 minutes. It’s very important that you do not use your hands for any tasks during drying time.

  • Once your henna is dry, wear the paste for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight.

  • Scrape henna paste off with butter knife or rub it off with your hands.

  • Protect your henna with a very light coat of coconut or olive oil.

  • Henna stain will appear bright orange upon removal of paste and gradually darken over the next 24-72 hours.

Don’ts

  • Don’t remove henna paste with water or scrub the hands.

  • Don’t swim in a chlorine pool. This shortens the life of the design.

  • Don’t go home and cover your henna with plastic wrap or any other coverings.
